Hermitage House
The Hermitage house, a single family home, is being designed and developed in the family friendly neighborhood near Lawrence and Hermitage. Hermitage House is designed for multi-generational living. The house features a transitional design that beautifully melds a traditional look with an updated, modern aesthetic. With its front entry at grade, bedrooms on each of three levels, and an in-home elevator, this universal design house creates a safe and accessible living environment for all ages at all levels of physical ability. The home also has a separate but connected 500 square feet of living space that features moveable walls that convert a large open space into individual bedrooms. This additional living space can be used for a contained home office, separate guest quarters, adult children living at home or seniors who wish to be under the same roof as children and grandchildren but nonetheless want a separate living space to maintain individual dignity.
The first floor living space has a convertible study/bedroom; it also features floor to ceiling glass surrounding a large courtyard garden that brings natural light into the home in all four seasons. A thoughtfully designed kitchen contains fully accessible cabinetry as well as counters at varying levels suitable for individuals of all heights. Master suite and two bedrooms with over-sized picture windows are on the second floor. The basement level is defined by a second family room, bedroom, and abundant storage space. All three levels are accessible via in-home elevator. The home provides ample space at just over 4500 square feet while the flow of the home encourages the use of all levels and all rooms to create a coziness often lacking in large layouts.
